Privacy Policy

This page explains what Adjusting Your Brain collects when you read a post, send a mailbag note or reply to the monthly letter, why we keep it, and how you can ask us to correct or remove it. Last updated 12 March 2025.

What we collect

When you write to us through the contact form or by email, we receive your name, email address and whatever you choose to put in the message. If you subscribe to the monthly letter, we store the email address you signed up with. Our hosting and analytics tools also record technical data: browser type, device, approximate region, pages viewed and the time of the visit.

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of cookies to keep the site working and to see which posts people actually finish reading. Analytics events are grouped, not tied to your name. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site will still load, though some preferences may reset between visits.

Why we hold it

Reader messages help us answer questions and pick topics for the mailbag. Email addresses are used to send the letter you asked for and nothing else. Technical data tells us which pages break on mobile and where readers lose interest, so we can fix the writing and the layout.

Who else sees it

We rely on a few outside services to run the blog: a hosting provider, an email delivery tool for the monthly letter, and an analytics provider. They process data on our instructions and are not allowed to use it for their own marketing. We do not sell reader data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

How long we keep it

Reader emails and mailbag messages are kept while the conversation is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, so we can follow up on a thread. Newsletter addresses stay on the list until you unsubscribe. Analytics records are kept in aggregate form and are not stored indefinitely in a way that identifies you.

Your rights

You can ask to see what we hold about you, have it corrected, request a copy in a portable format, or have it deleted. You can also withdraw consent for the newsletter or analytics at any time. Readers in the EU and UK have these rights under the GDPR, and readers in California under the CCPA. Write to us and we will respond within a reasonable window.

A note on honesty: this blog shares personal experiments and plain explanations, not medical advice, and we do not claim guaranteed outcomes, official affiliations or endorsements we do not have. If a post describes a routine, it is one person's account, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. Where we get something wrong, we correct it in the post rather than quietly removing it.

Cookie settings

We use cookies to keep the site reliable, remember basic choices, and understand which pages are useful. You can accept, reject, or review the settings before continuing.
